The 1982 construction of the Ratchaprapha Dam by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand was a complete tragedy for the wildlife of Khao Sok National Park.
Landscape Arch is the longest of the many natural rock arches in this national park and second longest in the world. This arch is an arc natural arch eroded in Entrada sandstone.

Caddo is one of Texas’ few non-oxbow natural lakes and is the 2nd largest in the South; however, it was artificially altered by the addition of a dam in the 1900s.
